feather dusta crusta

Despite the dreadful name the Feather Duster Crusta was a hit!

I may have got slightly carried away with the sugar rim, I wash chipping it off the glass long after the drink was finished.

1 ½ oz Calvados

½ oz Maraschino Liqueur

¾ oz Pink Grapefruit Juice

½ oz Lemon Juice

¼ oz Passionfruit Syrup

¼ oz Grenadine

2 dash Peychauds Bitters

Now ordinarily this many ingredients would be setting off alarm bells, there are at least 3 too many things here. But…… to my great surprise it’s good, with the tartness of the citrus nicely off set by sugary goodness.

As Sinead said this would make a great punch, and it does have a certain Christmassy sparkle, with the pinky/redness and the snowy sugar. I think the octopus punch bowl may well make an appearance at this years Poisoners Cabinet Christmas party, it’s usually Sinead & I on a park bench with some tins, but this year we’ll have punch, it’ll be fancy!

Let us know what your drinking this weekend, do you try the feather duster crusta, or have you gone for something else entirely? Enquiring minds want to know!
