Three Storms Flip

Ohhhhh such egg based goodness this week!

Was nice to get something a bit different on the menu this week, and as Sinead pointed out we’ve not had a flip as a cocktail before.

1 ⅔ oz Aged Rum

1 oz Falernum

¼ oz Single Malt Whisky

2 dashes Orange Bitters

Pinch of salt

Grind of Black Pepper

1 whole egg

Chuck everything into your tin with tons of ice and give it all a dam good shake, reaaaaaally shake it!

Fine strain into a lovely glass. Next time I make this I’ll probably drop the whisky down a tad, it was very powerful in the first few sips but it does mellow as you go.

Don’t be squeamish about raw egg, you really can’t taste the eggs and it’s not at all slimy, it just adds a beautiful richness to the drink. I would say if you don’t fancy the egg, then don’t attempt this without, just make something else.
