The Widow’s kiss

So many twigs!!!

Monks everywhere are rejoicing at the sheer herbal onslaught that is the Widows Kiss!

1 oz Calvados
⅓ oz Benedictine
⅓ oz Yellow Chartreuse
2 dashes Angostura Bitters.

Stir everything with ice a strain out into a shrubbery shaped glass.

This one has a bit of history, it was created by George Kappeler at New Yorks Holland House Hotel in 1895, who knows what happened for it to have such a beguiling name, but it is perfect on our approach to Halloween.

Unsurprisingly I loved this, and it even managed to tempt Sinead into having a second so I’m claiming that as a win!
