The Duchess
She is a fierce and contrary being, sometimes kind sometimes terrifying, it is no wonder Aunt Gordon is always on her best behaviour. Join us this week in raising a glass of our new favourite tipple The Duchess!
1 ½ oz Sweet Vermouth
1 ½ oz Dry Vermouth
½ oz Absinthe
1 dash Orange Bitters
Stir everything with ice and strain into the most elegant and tiara decked glass you have.
We loved this, the absinthe wasn’t overpowering as it so often is, perfectly balanced and surprisingly fruity. If you are feeling particularly adventurous you could try the 1930’s original that calls for equal parts of each, but I do fear that madness lies that way.
